I think that Apple execs once thought the same way you are now... Compaq, today, is dead-on-arrival. To maintain market share, Compaq has to sell at a loss. That can only go on for so long. The indirect model is slowly, surely, and irreversibly suffocating them. All of the talk about direct marketing at Compaq is bunk. DELL IS THE HUNTER, AND ENDGAME IS NEAR. And that's the gospel...
