Ballmer's recent positive comment about Office2000 doing well out of the blocks will drive MSFT upward. Personally, I think they overestimated the negative effects of Y2K on Office2000 sales. The big difference between Office2000 and Office97 is the vastly improved web support. All the large corporations are implementing intranets with departmental web pages and web forms popping up everywhere. A web-friendly Office package is ideal for these people, a totally natural and needed upgrade. I think they've nailed this one. $$Ka-ching$$
