that is why i stated, the rules may have changed, i was involved twenty years ago in setting up a "foreign' corporation in the prc..at the time you could not own plant and equipment, the capital cost was yours, it was leased back to you, you were partnered with the prc/select private citizens..you could not take profits out of the country, it was done with trade credits...for example, dell may be allowed to export from the prc product made for inclusion into usa assemblies...these product transfers would be the profit....similar policies exist in malaysia and indonesia, india always followed more western free market ideas, to my knowledge...
i would be surprised if dell china is wholly owned by dell usa...perhaps you can research, the times they are a changing...prc is moving a bit toward capitalism, since the turn over of h.k....still not the easiest of climates to conduct business in, quality of product inferior to other more advanced pacific rim countries...(exclude japan)...malaysia, spore, best for hi quality hi tech manufacturing, korea, taiwan next, indonesia and philipines lagging due to constant political unrest....thailand somewhere in the lower segment also... |
