"BT Quietly Launches IP VPN Service

"British Telecommunications' business IP networking subsidiary, BTnet, has quietly launched a nationwide IP VPN and Internet-access service called equIP.
"'It's meant to provide a complete set of IP services including Internet access to a host site, IP connectivity between sites, and dial connectivity for people on the move or at home,' said Simon Brookes, marketing manager for BT's Internet and IP services.
"Previously, companies wanting to combine those three functions using BT services would have had to buy three separate products. 'It works out cheaper than buying all three separately,' Brookes said.

Nice to see BT offering Internet VPN service at the same time Novell is about to come out with its biometric-friendly Internet directory service and the cell phone suppliers are working with IDT on controlling wireless access to the Internet. |
