No wonder it's such a mystery to you. You are as clueless as ever.

You should take a look at Intel's website:

developer.intel.com

You will see that a Dixon PII processor with 256K on die L2 outperforms an equally clocked PII processor with 512K L2 by the following:

SpecInt95 7.26%
SpecFP95 13.4%

I would expect the Coppermine will enjoy AT LEAST this same boost over the PIII. Larger on die L2 could eliminate any FP advantage the K7 may have.
