I am not aware of any factor internal to Aavid which would have warrented the drop. Aavid does not have a material restricted stock situation. The rumor mill varies from profit taking on the part of one or more institutional investors, reacting to rumors of a possible secondary offering, rumors to the effect that Oak may distribute some of its Aavid holdings to its limited partners (which I think is a good idea but they haven't done it yet to the best of my knowledge), to some market making influence positioning the company's equity for its next step to higher levels. Montgomery and Robertson rate Aavid as a strong buy; Robertson issued a new research report last week. Wish I knew more....
