The 200 share sale at .625 marks the first time BANY has traded BELOW the pre-SEC filing low back on February 4 - looks to me like essentially all of the excitement of the first SEC filing has entirely disappeared over the past 4 1/2 months.
In fact, I think BANY has traded below .625 only 2~3 days since the Anything Internet dividend was announced back in November '98 (7 months ago?!).
When I sold my last BANY shares at ~$.84 right after Mother's Day I didn't say anything because although I felt strongly that BANY could drop this far if nothing happened by June, and I didn't want to look like a "short," or a "slammer." Well here we are, 7 months from the first projected Anything trading date and still nada.
For what its worth, here is why I stopped posting to this thread and calling the company...
I ordered a webcam off the Anything Internet site and had a bad experience - which was the #1 sign to me that I was invested in a pipedream. I ordered the camera for next day delivery, but since AI cannot process credit card orders over the net (!?!?!?@@^!?!) I had to wait until the next day to FAX in my order confirmation. Two days later (May 6) I received an e-mail asking me to FAX in another form since the address I was sending my gift to was not the same as my credit card. I faxed that form in AFTER Mother's Day - then nothing - for several days I heard nothing. Finally I e-mailed AI - again nothing - for days - so I called - and had to leave a message - since (it appears) only two (2) people work sending out AIs orders. Eventually I called Cameron, he could not get through to anyone at AI, so he left a message - again nothing. Finally - I got the following message on MAY 19(!?@%#^&!?):
"I got your message today, and want to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. When you originally placed the order, we ordered the item out of one of our warehouses being shipped to us in Colorado for reship. We do this to all California orders so we do not have to charge sales tax. Anyway, it appears that the warehouse never shipped your item and put us on backorder, even though the item was available. When Cameron called us about this last week, we asked the warehouse to release it, but once again they did not. To resolve the situation I re-ordered the item for direct shipment from one of my reliable secondary vendors and she should receive the item tomorrow. Sorry about the inconvenience. Please email me if you have any further questions.
If you have any questions or concerns, please write me back. Thank you.

So there you have it - a Mother's Day webcam order - apparently too complex for AI to handle efficiently. Sorry folks, that was my first and last order experience with AI. I tried to order my Doublecase from AI, but it was too much of a hassle so I did it from BANY directly. I also tried to order downloadable software (using Digital River) from AI but it was also too much of a hassle - I had to use Cyberian Outpost instead.
IMO - I-M-O - AI does not appear to be an e-commerce site at all - it uses the internet to facilitate fax orders that are then forwarded to distributors who deliver the products for AI. The products are NOT delivered efficiently, and the prices are NOT comparable to other e-commerce sites where you can order with a credit card and have products delivered overnight. I hate to say it, but my impression is that thecompany should rename itself "Nothing Internet" - sorry, couldn't resist. I'm sure this post may rile some BANY "longs", but I felt it was important to share my experience now while it looks like it's mostly just the longs who are still around.
I am grateful for the experience and $$$ I gained while investing in BANY. I have no wish for BANY to choke when/if ANYI trades - but from my experience with AI it will need alot of internet hype to do well.
Be careful out there - do your own research - all the best:) |
