<People are asking YOUR COMPANY where are those benchmark data to compare MOBILE VERSION versus REGULAR. Is it clear enough for now?>

Could we, like, tone down the shouting please? It gets awfully annoying when you shout at me like some army drill sergeant.

As for mobile vs. desktop, Intel hasn't provided any benchmarks between the two, because drawing a valid comparison would be awfully tough. I guess Intel could always plug a Dixon into a desktop and show how well it performs against a desktop Pentium II. But why should Intel do this when Dixon isn't going into any desktop? There are several other factors that affect performance on laptops besides the "power-saving" features of the CPU. Disk drives perform differently, graphics systems may be degraded because of the power constraints, mobile chipsets have their own quirks, etc.

(By the way, if you're SHOUTING at me because Intel hasn't published benchmarks comparing a mobile and a desktop Pentium II, how come you're not SHOUTING at AMD for failing to do just that between the mobile and desktop version of the K6-2 or K6-III?)

The comparison between Dixon and mobile Deschutes is still the closest comparison we have, even if the desktop exhibits vastly different performance characteristics compared to the mobile arena. You can spend all day shooting down comparisons as invalid. But if you have a better comparison, please show us the link or the source. Otherwise, we'll just have to accept Elmer's original comparison as the closest we have.
