Kingfisher, obviously you have been very disappointed in the performance of the stock price over the last few years and are convinced it is because you were misled by the original underwriters and founders of the company. I can understand you sense of betrayal and have felt the same way on several other stocks--QZAR and GNNX for example. Outright lies and deception, IMO, occurred on those. QZAR was even fully reporting!
You are warning the thread that the company needs to prove itself as being worthy of our trust by, among other things, becoming fully reporting. I agree and I think the fact that it isn't is one of the reasons the stock is at .18 and not over a dollar.
You indicated that what you perceive as deception could occur again because you believe that the founders may still be working together with management to that end. I suppose it is a possibility but as you said is just your opinion. I hope the company is now on the straight and narrow but agree that there is reason to be cautious. At these low prices it would seem much more likely that manipulation would occur to the positive side than negative side, so I don't feel very threatened at the moment by this possibility. However, I much prefer a company that is straightforward. I don't like stock games. I also agree that the more unknowns, the more one must be prepared to be nimble.
You mentioned that SureQuest has never paid a dividend and that you see that as one more sign that management doesn't care about shareholders. Small, fast-growing companies almost never pay dividends, so I don't share your view. The thinking is that it is better to further the growth of the company by reinvesting in itself. I may be wrong but I don't think Microsoft, for example, has ever paid a dividend. You also indicated that the recent price action has resulted in investors who are in for that reason alone, yet are at the same time hyping 'fundamental type information such as it being a legitimate company with earnings'. I don't really care why people are in the stock (except to help understand the supply/demand factors) but do care if false information is being spread. I have been right on top of virtually all of the SI and RagingBull postings about DIET and haven't seen a single one that says the company is profitable. I haven't seen what I would call much more than enthusiasm. Sure, much is centered around groups that tend to daytrade but as far as I'm concerned to each his/her own when it comes to investment style. As far as fundamentals are concerned, I view all known facts as 'fundamentals', and worthy of consideration when choosing an investment. I don't think the negatives you have mentioned are reasons to avoid or not become enthusiastic about a stock. But they are reasons to be cautious in one's enthusiasm.
<<I only posted the truth the way I see it which simply should not have any influence on the price movement of the stock>>
No problem here with posting the truth. I'm after the same thing. I disagree about affecting the price of the stock. I'm not saying you did (probably didn't), but these days SI postings can make a difference. In fact I believe the rise on Friday was for the most part completely due to exposure of this little gem (IMO) on SI.
I'm curious what you think the stock is worth? The only reason I'm in it and continued to buy from the teens down to .06 is because I really thought they are worth it and that the internet product could potentially have a nice competitive lead.
I'm looking forward with both caution and optimism. The past is important when evaluating a stock. So is the future. Hopefully we both will experience the positive benefits Surequest's growth in the industry, and discover that they are serious about treating their shareholders with the respect we deserve.
Sincerely, Ted |
