Glenn -- an interesting point, but if viewed that way the same could be true of any of the major leaps forward in the economy. I have tried to explain my views as internet bull, valuation bear, partly for the reasons suggested in the note you posted. There is no way to wish this away. The US is well positioned to take advantage of this trend and has done so. Japan, the second most important economy in the world, is disasterously positioned for this and will go through gut wrenching changes as the net is blamed for destroying the economy at precisely the same time as it becomes seen to be the only hope for building a economy. In Malaysia, where the government is spending billions it doesn't have on internet infrastructure, the politicians are shocked to find that once people go on line they say anything they please -- including down with the government. The internet is remaking our world -- of that I have no doubt. But AMZN is a buy at $20.
