Hi Carolyn,

Far from flaming you, I actually want to praise you for entering the fray with a concise, thoughtful and practical view of service to the home. Sometimes the denizens of this thread are prone to vastly quixotic and ethereal speculations and its nice to look at things from a dollars and cents perspective as well.

You've got it right, at the end of the day, all the last mile solutions must stand up to the test of the market. And I will guarantee you that if Technology A costs $30/mo. and Technology B costs $50/mo for slightly better service, then B will disappear in short order. The name of the game for residential bandwidth providers is commoditization. The guy with the best cookie cutter, sold on the cheap, wins the war.
