Namaliu to focus on gas project
PORT MORESBY: Petroleum and Energy Minister Sir Rabbie Namaliu, will address business and finance leaders on the PNG oil and gas industries, and the PNG gas project at a seminar in Melbourne today.

Sir Rabbie said he and the his department secretary, Joe Gabut, would make presentations on the progress of the gas pipeline project, as well as highlight the opportunities for investment in the oil and gas sector.

"The seminar is being hosted by the leading Melbourne legal firm, Arthur Robinson and Hedderwicks, and will be attended by leaders from the resource sector, banking and finance, so it will be an excellent opportunity to promote not only the benefits of the PNG gas project, but the opportunities for investment in oil and gas exploration and development, and onshore processing," Sir Rabbie said.

"At this very critical period in the development of the gas project, we need to use every opportunity to sell the benefits of the project to potential investors, and opinion makers."

Sir Rabbie said he had already seen evidence of great interest in the Australian investment community in the gas project, and in the country's resource sector as a whole.

"I am certain the opportunity this seminar will give will see even greater interest in the pipeline project, and our resource sector," he said.
