Mark, NetCommandTech will not be applying for any patents on the V-Band 900 times compression technology, because that technology does not exist as described. It's most likely the best case compression ratio of some actual compression technique, otherwise it's just smoke and mirrors.
I covered my short today as I am concerned that a high short interest combined with a fantastic story about high bandwidth at low cost could cause this stock to skyrocket. Past experience has shown me that it doesn't matter if the story is true, or even somewhat believable, people are willing to invest their hard earned money on hopes and dreams. In fact, I remember reading a thread on SI about a company that discovered a compression technique that could be used recursively to compress data to an arbitrarily small size. If it wasn't small enough, just run it through the compressor again. This stock had a parabolic run until something or other happened, even though the company's claims were obviously false to anyone with experience with compression algorithms. I would not be surprised to see a repeat performance starring NetCommandTech. All they need are a couple of halfway believable quotes from supposed uninterested parties and a stock newsletter writer like Dave Stewart.
