I have a friend that wrote a small Java applet which automatically pings the IPO page until it is available and then places the order. When it was first come first serve nobody else had a chance. Believe me you may fell like you're being rewarded for you're diligence, but as long as there is a way to exploit the system, people who were simply clicking on their refresh button wouldn't have stood much of a chance. It is much more fair to allow a lottery.
