Montello Resources Ltd. (symbol MEO. on the Alberta Stock Exchange) are
pleased
to provide the following information further to the news release dated May 18,
1999. The company is currently constructing an interactive web site called
net-locate.com that will be the home of the net-locate.com monitoring and
mapping services. net-locate.com is a multi-functional web site that will
allow
users access to several features including NETLOCATOR and MAPLOCATOR.
NETLOCATOR is a system created by net-locate.com that consists of proprietary
technology that allows it to utilise the power of the internet to not only
locate items, i.e vehicles, but monitor “event based ” situations from those
items as well. Event based monitoring can be explained by using a vehicle as
an example. net-locate.com will show you events occurring on the vehicle
such
as speed, direction, lights on/off, hours of operation, collision detected,
etc. Once logged into net-locate.com you can view these events as they
happen,
“real time” or save them in a memory log to be viewed at a later time.
Demand for this type of technology has existed from the commercial sector for
years but has always been either extremely expensive or in the case of events
based monitoring non-existent till now. net-locate.com will now not only be
able to meet the demands of the commercial sector, by making it very
inexpensive, but far exceed them by offering previously unavailable features
like event based monitoring. In so doing net-locate.com hopes to satisfy the
commercial sector. By bringing the price threshold down, a non-commercial
demand should appear for this service , thereby targeting a much larger
market.
net-locate.com can be used to monitor many items including :
*cars *taxis *boats *young drivers skills
*small aircraft *semi-trailers *couriers *bikes
*construction vehicles *snowmobiles *etc.
Another target market for net-locate.com is in the vehicle security sector.
Thanks to net-locate.com's event based monitoring and its interactive
features
you will now not only be alerted that your car has been stolen, but you will
know where it is and have the ability to disable the engine! Other
interactive functions include the ability to unlock your car doors from the
internet if you lock your keys in.
MAPLOCATOR
net-locate.com will also incorporate one of the most comprehensive map
database's in the world. These detailed maps of North America allow the
viewer
to create or view maps right down to the street address of a particular house
or business. If your holiday or business plans entail travelling from Boston
to Los Angeles you will be able to access the map data base of
net-locate.com to
find the quickest route to take . In addition to this you will be able to
print a copy of this map which will include logo's on the map along your
chosen
route detailing various hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, gas stations, points
of interest, etc. You will also be able to double-click on these logos to get
more info like, make room reservations, or check if campground xyz is pet
friendly, etc. The entire map will have links so that you will be able to
find
out about events that will be occurring in the various cities, and towns, on
roughly the dates you were expecting to be visiting that area. This mapping
service will be free of charge in order to increase the number of visits to
the
net-locate.com web site which in turn will enhance advertising revenues and
promote the netlocator system.
net-locate.com revenue sources
Non-internet units have been sold and are currently being used in Police
vehicles in several counties in the United States. Similar sales are expected
to continue with the main focus for the future being on generating revenues
from the net-locate.com web site. Projected revenues will come from several
sources. Initially the focus will be in filling the demand for vehicle/item
locating and monitoring, and tap into the very lucrative car security products
industry. A small fee will also be collected from hotels, restaurants, event
sponsors, chamber of commerce, etc. to have their logos or events of interest
displayed on our maps. In addition to this, extensive banner advertisements
from various hotels, restaurants, automotive clubs, tourist attractions, etc.
which are located along the chosen route you wish to travel will be featured.
Diamond Exploration Update
Montello, jointly with Kennecott, have applied for the M.E.A.P. Mineral
Exploration Assistance Program, that the province of Manitoba offers each year
to companies involved in mineral exploration. Any funds received from the
program will be added to funds already allotted for the summer exploration
program to commence approximately mid August. We are still awaiting final
caustic fusion results, from Kennecott's laboratory, for the Legend property
kimberlites discovered last fall.
