Yet they do sell Red Hat Linux 6.0 on their web site for $79.95 now, so you've got to wonder if they don't make at least a pretty good living off of the "free" software alone. The way I understand it, when you buy the package you're really buying the support. You can get the complete Redhat distribution for $1.99 from cheapbytes.com so the software is sort of still free.
