I spoke to the CTO of Netradio yesterday. I asked him why he uses Real as opposed to competintfg technology. If you are long RNWK, you will love his answer. Its all about diastributiion. As long as Realplayer maintains a lead in market share, that is who will be adopted by distributors who want market share. This puts Real in the drivers seat. It is theirs to loose and virtually impossible for anyone to unseat them as long as they stay on the ball. Also asked him why they don't use NT servers(they use linux) He gave the obvious answer. NT is not reliable enough They are in the process of installing additional servers as traffic to their sight is up dramatically over the last month or so...This is a plus for the audio/video streaming market, therefor a plus for Real. He felt all the technologies available were relatively similar and the most important fdactor is player penetration. This type of thinking is like having the wind at your back for rnwk shareholders
