Mark, Sorry, but obviously you don't know anything about software. You DO NOT patent software. At least you don't if you don't want the Tiawanese to Pirate it. You copyright it. That way you only have to provide a snippet of the source code. If you try to patent it, you have to provide the whole code.

Ask Bill Gates how much software he has patented.
