Cirruslvr, Re <RAMBUS>
What I've heard at the "pool" that the RAMBUS
testing in systems revealed a design flaw -
a sort of race condition in some situations.
Therefore all licensed cores from RAMBUS
have this flaw, including Intel controllers.
I guess Elmer was right
about difficulties in testability, so
the flaw was discovered at very late
stages in system-level testing. This would
explain the desperate attempts to revive
the project by lowering RAMBUS frequencies
drastically. I suspect it will not help much.
