COGNICASE Announces $5 Million In New Contracts

JUNE 10, 1999
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--COGNICASE Inc. (Nasdaq: "COGI") announces five
new contracts totalling Cdn.$5 million from Quebec public sector
entities and government ministries. The projects involve the
development of new applications, including Internet and Intranet
links, as well as improvements to existing mission critical
systems. To be completed over a two-year period, the projects are
based on a range of leading-edge technologies using high level
software such as Powerbuilder, Oracle and DB2.
"These contracts demonstrate that COGNICASE is an important player
in the Quebec market and a growing information technology supplier
to the public sector," said Ronald Brisebois, President and Chief
Executive Officer. "With the recent acquisitions of Roy, Bourassa
& Associes Inc. and Groupe de consultation en management et
systemes informatiques MSI Inc., our market position has been
further strengthened in terms of technological depth, number of IT
professionals and ability to deliver large scale projects on time
and on budget."
The contracts announced today are with Commission de la sante et
de la securite au travail (worker compensation), Societe de
l'assurance automobile du Quebec (automobile insurance), Societe
immobiliere du Quebec (real estate), Commission administrative des
regimes de retraite et d'assurances (pensions and insurance), as
well as with large government ministries, such as ministere de la
Solidarite sociale (social welfare).
