It's interesting how different people predict news will affect stock openings. When I noticed what (to me) was "good news" on USU, I figured that the stock price would probably jump up today, and I'd have to pay up in order to increase my position.

James Clarke however thought

Also, the USEC announcement today was huge. I consider it positive in a big way. The market may consider it negative. Watch this stock tomorrow. It will probably trade in a 2 point range one way or the other. I would pay $15 for it now if I had to. I don't think I will have to.

Looks like we were both wrong ;-). So far the reaction (and volume) seem to be pretty mild.

Before the market opened, due to James' concerns of a large trading range today, I decided to get "clever" in my buying today. I decided to dollar-cost-average by buying (with market orders) equal dollar amounts of stock at each of 9:30am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 4:30pm. The relatively flat price action so far has made a mockery of my cleverness, however this is the first "real time experiment" of this sort that I've done. I'm curious if this will gain me an (infinitesmally) improved acquisition price. If anyone's interested, I could report the actual results.
