pied--

i'll go for around 2100 as a potential low, around 3k as a potential high on the nas. i hate putting up these kinds of numbers, but you asked. now i will probably get the 'oh my god, what a moron' award for being sooooo wrong<G>.

bonds dont move higher...thats the bottom line. as for the fed raising interest rates, i disagree. i just dont see the realistic case for it at this time. wage inflation isnt enough... it never has been. any serious inflation has always been related to commodities, and guess what...they arent going anywhere.

a fed move now will cause problems. can you believe CNBC and everyone pimping those BOJ numbers today? so much for critical analysis by journalists<G>.

look at it in terms of earnings growth and where bond yeilds would really have to be to make them competitive with equities. i heard someone on CNBS yesterday talking about how investors are putting money into a risk free 6% yeild. the problem with this is that once you get satisfied with 10%/year its kind of hard to give up<G>.

i am beginning to wonder whether i am being honest or trying to delude myself. i just dont see any reason to raise rates. maybe the old women moves us up 25 BPs. that i think we can stomach. anymore is just overkill and i will seriously worry about greenspan being a sadist<G>.

at any rate, it doesnt matter all that much to me. i am in a lot of growth stocks and i will get hit on those, but i am also sitting in a few companies that trade at discounts, not multiples. they may be stodgy but if the worst case scenario is realized thats where i want to be.

good luck to all,
trey
