No one on the thread seems to ever talk about the success/failure of Wind's marketing of their product. The only concern seems to be Wind's marketing of their company to investors. Has greed skewed the thread a bit? t is interesting that everyone seemed so satisfied with management during a couple of years of steady stock appreciation. part of this appreciation was due to the CEO's huge concern for WIND's appeal to Wall St., always trying to present smooth, steady growth. Ron's "stepping down" seems to indicate that the BOD is no longer satisfied with his methods.

Jerry F. gave a presentation at the H&Q conference that stressed the "into the Tornado" metaphor,a metaphor used by many emerging Internet company where a tornado of revenue growth is emphasized with little concern for steady earning growth, in fact often with a great deal of negative earnings. The new emphasis on vertical markets also follows this pattern.Things have really changed at Wind River. It is no surprise that they don't have their story down pat for Wall St. Can we focus more on their story in marketing their product to their customers? The word Investor appears so much more on this thread than the word customer. The changes in product marketing are very exciting to me.
