FYO - Re: "This also explains why the K7 uses 1.6V" According to AMD publications the K7 uses a 2.5 volt Vcc which is reduced on-chip to 1.6 volts FOR THE PLL CLOCK ONLY. Higher voltages are used to achieve faster speed when all else fails. That is why AMD is using HIGHER VOLTAGES in their higher speed parts - they could achieve them NO OTHER WAY. Paul
