Richard,
Never fear, humble carl is here!

I have close ties to Omaha. Picked up a wife there as I was passing thru in 1955. Yeap, a flat tire slowed me down a bit, but my lady has been good to me.

When I post my unrealized portfolio gain at year end, I will without doubt be crowned the "heir to the Warren Buffet Throne". I will stop in and see him next time I am in Omaha. (PS: my native Omaha 'indian' wife will make the arrangements for the humble one! (I never saw any real natives in Omaha!))

This temporary setback confuses many. I still believe that a portfolio gain for 1997, using my brain dead method, of 200% is very attainable.

Last year I only made 150%, because I had to unload close to 33% of my Intel stock at about 50. This year I am not playing it that close and the chipmaking stocks are doing good.

This market is one that is being manipulated a bit by the mutual funds. They hope to scare the weak into selling.
Keep the faith,
humble carl
