True, they are not exact parallels, only similar.
The Kosovar Albanians recently immigrated to Kosovo.
The Palestinians had been living in Palestine for some 1300 years.
Yugoslavia was officially established as a pluralistic state,
while Israel was established as a Jewish theocracy. The Law of Return and other laws favor only Jews!
There are some one million Kosovar Albanians refugees living in camps for less than a year,
but 2 million Palestinians refugees living in camps for 50 years.
NATO and the US has recognized the plight of the Kosovars and aided them,
while the US has given billions to Israel to help achieve and complete their ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians.
Yugoslavia is presently violating no UN resolutions vis a vis Kosovo,
but Israel is presently in violation of over 20 UN resolution dealing with ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians.
Yugoslavia has been historically Orthodox Serbian for the last thousand years,
while Palestine has been historically Palestinian(Moslem 90%, Christian 10%, Jewish less than 1%) for the last 1300 years!
These historical facts indicate that there more compelling reasons for NATO to bomb Israel than there were for NATO to bomb Yugoslavia. |
