A lot is going to depend on how these things break out over the next few years. The list of hardware suppliers, software suppliers, and alliances is huge. Some of these companies are in two or three alliances. As I understand it, Infowave has a good position now, but they don't have an exclusive. To gain and retain primacy, Infowave must leverage a winning position by expanding and refining product into other areas. While Wireless Knowledge and Glenayre will certainly add to the bottom line, there are other huge allaiances...and who knows when people will start changing partners?
I wonder how these partnerships will affect IWM, and if they are planning for industry-wide acceptance of existing and new Infowave communications software. For sure, whoever gets to the top is going to have to work like hell to stay there.
