Re: occupation of Kosovo

Wow! You must get up really early or go to bed late.I slept unusually late this morning and just now received your interesting post. I didn't know how much contact you had had with E.V., so thought I would pass along the results of my banging my head against a brick wall. Such radicals need to have their hands called, but a message board is too limited to do the job right.

I can't speak for neocon (he does a fine job of that himself) but I am very concerned about the occupational forces, or, at least, the American contingent. In the inimitable words of that sage philosopher " It ain't ovah 'til it's ovah." Clinton, with U.S. clout, was the driving force behind this debacle and we will probably have to pay for his folly, as usual. Had he not done this, I would be in favor of telling Europe that it is their mess and they should clean it up. Unfortunately, he has made this almost impossible. Now, we are going to be stuck with the job of mop-up and rebuilding out of our pockets. This rankles me. No one should forget that the KLA is still in operation and the ethnic hatred still seethes on both sides. We are holding a very hot potato. ( I should have but an e on that for spite.)

Nice talking to you.

Best regards,
