ynot,
Well... I thought, "Why Not?!?" (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)
Actually, I'm using StockScanner to find potential trades. Then, I use QCharts to do the detailed analysis. I'm thinking of two possible uses:
1. Ability to "send" the symbol to QCharts, so that when I alt-tab to QCharts, the symbol is displayed and charted. I could use Send Keys, but I'm not sure what I'm should be sending them to. Another analogous use would be to send the symbol to a multi-quote window in QCharts.
2. Ability to perform detailed analysis and have QCharts display the results.
3. A third use, especially associated with CyberX or Preferred would be to create an order-entry front end. I could include complex, rules-based triggers and enter an order based on these.
Regarding 2 and 3, I'm not sure if the effort is worth it.
By the way, I created a Market Sentiment tracker in StockScanner that was the moving average of the individual parameters that I was tracking (primarily price and volume changes). Problem was, I didn't use it much. Seems that the "average" of my parameters had low volatility. Gave poor signals. So I went back to using some of the standards - Nasdaq 100 and 500 indexes, Dow, and some others.
I'm almost ready for a beta. Check the QCharts oneList thread. I'll be posting information within the next week.
Regards,
