With the FNet capabilities, who besides the VoIP startups could benefit?
Rolling out voice and data services (other), that can compete with larger established carriers, should be another avenue for FNet?
It seems to me startups like FNet and its IP service's, are outmoded commodities when relating to what works today if you don't have a customer base.
The value-added customer services (which we have little need for ((no customer base), but networking VAS's such as data security and managed virtual private networks (VPN) would seem to be more of a profit trail for FNet.
Out-sourcing seems to be the key buzz-word of the day in telecommunications just as leasing software is to today's corporation.
So if one focused on out-sourced network security, managed VPN's, which is expected to be a big cash cow for carriers "because corporations do not want to support these applications internally", am I wrong in suggesting a separate management team for this niche market would work? Or is this already in place? bzzzz ! <perplexed>
Check out Shasta Corporation shastanets.com with VC financing for less than 10 million last year, NorTel bought the company a few months ago for about 340mil hmmmmm!....... along the same lines.
I may be wrong, but I think FNet has the setup for just that, a managed IP service platform, an integrated box that consists of processors, networking hardware, and IP applications?
So what's FNet setting on, a huge transistor capable of reaching Molder from the far side? Ha!!
Doesn't FCM/FNet have the product / facilities help startup CLECs quickly deploy managed IP services that can help them compete with the larger carriers in the manner is which I just stated? Where's the beef here guys !!
Hosting the equipment at the central office, without requiring site visits or more expensive equipment investment is probably old news, but isn't old news appealing, or am I way off base here?
There are no copper payments for installation here, no tariff's for each copper line people, and since there seems to be a CLEC frenzy, can't companies like FNet follow this route for revenue?
I think the key words here for FNet might be> let us "insource"-not in websters<ggg>, your outsource needs" therefore focusing on something besides Telephony (not much there(, minutes !! Just tak'n a few seconds here to pound the cyber pavement again.
