It nice, but without the coverage,convience and low price, it's just a cool toy.

But won't coverage, convenience and price come in time? And once they've been achieved, wouldn't this have some advantages over CD Radio? Most importantly, it would be two way communication. And since it's a common carrier, anyone who wants to compete with CDRD's content will be able to do so without the investment in infrastructure. It seems that CDRD is operating in an undefined, but very real, window of time before their satellites become white elephants. Given that profitability isn't supposed to come until 2002 at the earliest, this could be a serious issue.
