I picked up some posts of the talkative bunch on Yahoo...
CFO.... by: manager10000 1316 of 1332
Having met with the company less than a week ago, there was absolutely no reason to think that the departure of the CFO is for any other eason than personal. His wife has recently died of cancer, and it is not unusual for someone to make a change like this after such a sad event. Most people want to spend more time with their families (less travel, etc) so I would not read much into this.
If he deceides to sell his stock, there are a few institutions (us included) that would like to buy his stock, although inquiries made to the MM's have indicated that there are only short sellers around, with small retail sellers in between. As to what is happening at the company... They will be announcing a number of both small and large contracts over the next quarter, and should have no problem making or beating the street numbers. Their business is excellentSpend a few minutes checking out the story and you will find why this is a story with at least low 20's on it.
Make your own decisions based on facts, not on rumors or stories circulated by the shorts. Good Luck.
Talked to the CFO... by: fundotecho (41/M/Los Angeles, CA) 1326 of 1332
I had a long talk with the CFO this morning. Based on our conversation, it is quite clear to me that the press release is a true statement of the situation. The company is doing fine. The company and I personally will miss him. :) Dan.

Your absolutely right. The CFO's wife had an advanced case of MS and committed suicide a few months ago. Bruce has been struggling with his grief ever since. He just needed to get some new scenery so he can make some personal decisions. The company has no debt, plenty of cash, and I am still long.
Getting it right....PLEASE. by: gigabank 1330 of 1332
CMED will not loose business from the end of the y2k contracts. The contacts they have made with the hospitals, equipment suppliers, manufactures etc. will enhance their overall presence in the market as well as provide them with consulting possibilities . The equipment will be upgraded based on priority. Some of it must be done now! Some can wait till after y2k.
On another point.I was speaking to the C.E.O. about 10 days ago,we spoke about a number of things. He said that he prefers to "Talk down" the E.P.S. That way everyone stays happy when results exceed expectations.
Also, we discussed the genetics industry and I mentioned Affymetrix and their biochips. He said something very interesting. He said that the industry was moving towards Probe Arrays. I believe CMED is going to get a contract to produce Arrays for someone. If you go back on the message board (maybe 20-25 messages ago) someone brought up the topic of probe arrays. Have a look at his opinion.
Finally I was told by John A.(C.E.O.) that he was very pleased with business conditions....that things were better than he had expected.
Final thought..Have you ever had a spouse with Cancer? Consider the time required to attend to a dying spouse as well as the emotional impact. Is it possible that, A)The C.F.O could not attend to his career and that a replacement might be appropiate. B).The former C.F.O may return after a rest, (you can't really take a sabatical can you now?). c) Sometimes new blood brings inspiration not desperation...THINK POSITIVE. Best of luck to all. The stock is worth 22.50 by my calculations at this time. |
