Roger,

1) I guess there were alot of comments for the original 10%, and David Faber of CNBC said yesterday (when the stock moved up to 47) that HIS sources pooh-poohed the actual execution, we all went back to sleep <G>. As well, Jason wasn't here to confirm anything!! <VBG>

2) It did yesterday, now.......reality is back. AG is the puppeteer, now. It will go up, but you gotta be realistic, at least today, on what you even could consider thinking you'd get. 60 now? NO way.

Here's some interesting data I found at CBS Marketwatch today:
____________

Calling on Qwest
Qwest Communications (QWST: news, msgs) stock gained on reports BellSouth Corp (BLS: news, msgs) said it was considering buying Qwest or boosting its stake in the company as it works its way into the long-distance phone service market. At the MotleyFool Qwest message board, posters were trying to figure out what BellSouth may be up to. AssetHound: ..."Don't forget that fed laws now prohibit a Baby Bell from owning more than 10 percent --- until something changes. So BellSouth probably can't do anything material before 2000 assuming that at least one Baby Bell is ok'd to enter the long-distance market. With six months to go then, we may see some volatility in QWST price as more news surfaces." And some are hoping for a better deal for Qwest. bgr5757535: ..."This is really interesting news. I think that Qwest is looking at US West (USW: news, msgs) as the better of the two baby bells...US West is further along in technology. So what happens to Qwest stock if it buys US West instead of (BellSouth) buying Qwest?" But from ralmaza: ..."It is possible that this Qwest bid is just a play by USW to jump start USW stock. USW has nothing valuable that I can see. I would seriously consider dumping my Qwest stock if Qwest bought into USW."

And still others don't like the idea of Qwest being on either end of the mergers and acquisitions wave. Blueguana: ..."I like Qwest as an Internet bandwidth play. I don't know if I want to be absorbed by a Baby Bell." And from onecent: ..."My thoughts as well. I like the idea of Qwest as a pure broadband entity. But, I'm still trying to figure out why Global Crossing wants US West."
