Thank you for your perspective. Here are some of my thoughts on what you said. Regarding to Juniper, I am not sure that Lucent can benefit much from it. Though Juniper routers are supposedly to be very fast, so are those of many other startups. But good technology alone will not crack Cisco's dominance. And before looking to buy something, always take a look at what Bell Labs has. I will not be surprised if Bell Labs come out with some superior router. As for voice over packet, I don't think the technology is ready yet. Demonstrating it working is different from really working. Besides, Lucent's customers have traditional been conservative in implementing un-proven technologies. Circuit switching is still the product to sell. And if the telcos are truely ramping up voice over packet, I would sell all of my LU and put everything on CSCO. Because when it comes to IP, Cisco is the king.
