John Kaiser, writing in the May 26 Bottom-Fish Report, says that according to investor relations man Doug Hickey, International CanAlaska Resources entered the world of Internet enterprise with the assistance of an advisory board of "very brilliant people." In other words, do not expect a bingo scheme from ICA. These leading Internet lights, Mr. Hickey explained to the letter writer, would ensure CanAlaska found a quality project. Mr. Kaiser recommended the former resource stock in December, 1996, at 66 cents and in November, 1997, at 41 cents; he has also discussed the company's resource-seeking efforts at least eight other times. In the current report, Mr. Kaiser says promoter Harry Barr has always been one of the first to arrive on the scene of a new trend. An earlier of Mr. Barr's area play moves was January's ill-fated Lac Rocher, Que., massive sulphide play. Mr. Barr, says Mr. Kaiser, pumped some personal money into the treasury through a 15-cent private placement. Mr. Kaiser adds encouragingly that "I am willing to bet that his switch over to the Internet play is anything but the kiss of death" for the Internet sector.
