My own approach is to lurk a lot on the active SI threads; find the folks like E! who have a very high degree of apparent knowledge AND success in applying that knowledge --I winnow out the best prospects and run them by a couple of non-SI TA types who have been long-time advisors. Meanwhile, I have been trying to get a bit smarter on charting, and timing theory, and running real world tests of what I am learning. Some of it has worked out.
Now I can try to expand a bit more, with all the info you've provided.
