WSJ has a piece written by Michael Ledeen in the editorial section detailing how professional civil servants " have been silenced or coerced into lying about matters that directly affected national security." If this is true and the administration is willing to "substitute facts with politically expedient information" concerning national security matters, what would be the big deal with fudging a few economic numbers.
