Interesting idea, Carl. + Re: Mike's DVD question. Don't know for sure Mike ( though I do know they were doing R&D in that area a few years ago. From the K << The Company is also assessing whether manufacturers of video games, DVD recorders and digital television receivers are using its patented technology. There can be no assurance that the manufacturers of these products are utilizing the Company's technology or, if used, whether the Company will be able to negotiate license agreements with the manufacturers. >> and I keep drifting back to another intriguing ( to me) phrase from the K <<Ampex has not granted any licenses under its scanning recorder patents specifically for data storage applications, but it may do so in the future if it determines that this would support the Company's marketing strategy.>> Partitioning seems a natural to me for that. But right now Ampex is the sole source for their format.
