I seriously doubt it has much to do with the action today, a bit maybe but certainly not the major portion.
This is just another example of the mineral exploration and mining industry being used as a political football. Nothing new, it's been going on for many decades all around the world, just different players. Keep in mind the peoples of the NWT, all of us, regardless of origin, have gone through the BHP/Diamet development process and are now moving through the Diavik process, and just across the border in the newly created Nunavut territory the Jericho development permit process has been launched by Tahera. The time frames that it has taken, and will take, for these development applications to move through the processes now in place will be the hallmark for any future development applications, including WSP's.
It will indeed be interesting to watch how it all sorts itself out, if it does. As well, it will be very interesting to see what kind of effect that a proven and bona fide high grade, high volume, high valuation, high quality, low cost diamond deposit will have on the political and economic evolution of the northern hinterland. That is of course if one does actually turn up.
In the meantime our favorite "Whispears" remains the jewel in the junior crown and good things can only come from that for a while. I will go safely out on a limb however, and predict that there will be many good buying and selling opportunities on this stock before that deposit is mined.
