MG, You did try to encourage me not to spin my wheels!!!

I remember the post very well.

Okay, now the Big Question -- How many companies in my data base of some 7,000 companies beat the Index over 1, 3, and 5 years?

Tick, tock; Tick tock. BTW I do expect a blow off type rally in July as the earnings come in.

Times up. <g> 262 companies beat the Index over 1, 3, and 5 years. However, some of them were one minute wonders. A 600% in one year has an incredible influence over the averages. It's also amazing what trash pits some of these appear to be, but I'll have to do some more research on this issue.

Okay, the next Big Question -- How many companies beat the Index in every year since 1994 and year to date?

Times up again. 7 companies (excluding 4 others that have already agreed to be acquired) satisfied this remarkable task. I actually thought it would be more. Bet you won't recognize some of these symbols: DNEX, MSFT, OMC, SBUX, SCH, UNPH, and VRTS.

More interesting trivia. Of the top ten mutual funds that have a position in the stock, 10 out of 10, were buying AUD, MSFT, PVN, and XLNX in May. 9 out of 10 were buying AFL, DELL, INTC, MHP, and TJX. Only checked the activity in the 262 companies. Thus, this is how I spent my evening. Asking another silly question that took more than a few hours to resolve.

To any others looking in -- no recommendations here. Due your own DD.

But, Enjoy.

Berney
