I put a basket on the flavor bars and I put different woods or coals in it.. It is a bit messy and I don't think it is suggested to be used this way but who cares its good.. The Weber has great heat to it and you can't believe how fast you can cook on it...I highly recommend it...Keeping it clean is a breeze.. Enjoy
