In October 1987 the gold stocks had had a large run up - I remember being in my broker's office and looking at all the charts and they were showing the same sort of upward patterns as most other stocks - and not acting and kicking myself later for not seeing the signs. We don't have the same situation now - the opposite in fact, and I would expect gold stocks to act contra market this time if we have a sharp decline - not forgetting margin calls of course. d
