I sure don't have the answers. With amati, the question right now is; what is the patient worth? With what I have read it looks like the component makers will lisence the technology.

I think there will be agressive competition between cable and telephone companies to deliver new technologies. ADSL makes sense because of the large copper wire installed base, if the modem costs can compete. That is the big if!!!! Finally, how much the public is willing to pay for information will be the deciding factor in all of this.

Here in minneapolis people are paying about $35 for telephones and $40 for cable. Those who are on the internet can get unlimited access for less than $25. I believe $100/month for a household may be the maximum cost, and people will be looking for less cost as time goes on. With all that the winner in these technologies will be companies that can figure out how to make a profit with this kind of revenues. At least thats what the world looks like to me right now.

Wouldn't it be great if we could see the future!!
