James Skelton, a senior information technology/e-commerce professional, who will work with management and the ICA 1T/e-com advisory board, overseeing the development of ICA's mandate to identify and finance innovative companies creating value within the emerging fields of e-business, internal communications and new media. ICA plans to finance at least one corporation per quarter, in a wide range of new economy investments. Mr. Skelton, PEng, CMA, has broad and extensive experience within these fields, and a strong achievement record in leading computer software and telecom companies. His background includes successful careers with both IBM and Northern Telecom, where he held the positions of senior executive, marketing, and division general manager. Mr. Skelton's recent focus was executive management, operations and financing of several early-stage ventures and president of CASEworks Inc., a company he founded as a provider and distributor of software tools delivering re-engineering and redevelopment solutions for major corporations. Mr. Skelton has on many occasions served as a director and adviser to both private and public corporations, and currently sits on the University of Waterloo (Ontario) advisory council. A former member of the board of governors and the executive committee of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario, and a former director of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada, Mr. Skelton holds a BSc (Eng) from Queen's University, an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and is a certified management accountant. Mr. Skelton, ICA's IT/e-com advisory board and management continue to review business plans related to the new mandate, with the intention of providing ICA shareholders with the best possible value for investment. Several plans have passed a first-stage scrutiny and due diligence on these ventures is continuing. ICA is completing a Web site to reflect and detail the new corporate initiatives. The Web site will be launched within seven working days, in conjunction with an Internet/e-mall marketing initiative designed to solicit business plans and raise awareness of ICA's presence in the Internet and e-business communities.
