Actually, they are hardware problems related to the machine on which the database servers resides. From what I know, they are using Windows NT servers for their database. Gives LE another chance to slap microsoft.

From what I read there it seems to me that they did lose the database server due to hardware failures and are working to rebuild it. They claim no data loss though. As of this writing the site (2:00 PST) the site is still down.

Interesting, huh ? Maybe if they do recover all the data, Oracle can turn this into a publicity stunt.
