Charles R,

Re:"P.S.: I am baffled why price watch ASPs are going up (or so I read). Any thoughts?"

I see a 5.5M quarter with blended ASP of $70.
With rest of biz at $350M that gives around 735M- they said they need $820 to breakeven or a loss of $85M. Also they will have some one time charges.

Re: price drops:

My best guess is that AMD is slowing down the K6-2 wafer starts dramatically.

We may only see 3M K6-2's. And 2M k6-III's and 250-400K K7's in Q3. With them hitting much closer to the $100 target.

With Cyrix stopping manufacturing Q3 should be a barnstormer for both Intel and AMD in my view.

I hope that once AMD announces that they have lost the low end battle but won the war at the high end the stock will move rather dramatically coupled with positive production mews.

Nobody like the MAD (mutually assured destruction ) model where both comanies lose money trying to kill each other.

Regards,

Kash.
