FLUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on any Nortel relationship!!!!!! Been at Supercomm for the week and LOAX didn't ring a bell with the guys at Nortel who are responsible for these types of relationships. To decipher the dsl equipment press release for everyone; "strategic relationship with Brooktrout' means they bought equipment from Brooktrout and probably alienated their Nortel Board Member in the process. Nortel actually has a better ADSL solution with their 1 meg modem that doesn't require a truck visit to the customer, doesn't require a second copper line, and allows the customer to use the same telephone line for voice and data with an "always on" connection. (bad decision overall, but I'm sure there was some kind of 'brother and law" deal with Brooktrout.) I saw and talked to several DSL equipment vendors at Supercomm and Brooktrout didn't have even a booth that I saw, but they could be the next Lucent, Ascend, or Nortel, so I welcome any enlightening posts here. One rule on strategic relationships: If revenue doesn't flow in both directions, it isn't a real business relationship. Try that acid test on this relationship. "when fully deployed" is a funny term. I am following a CLEC right now that has a DSL equipment rollout that will last 3 years. FYI-My technical guy says this stock hasn't shown support at any level since the IPO. His rule is "never try to catch a falling safe." HCM-Are you a locked out investor or an insider? Do you know if you can get up to the minute quotes on stocks quoted in the pink sheets?
