Done Some Further Digging... The Channelware NetActive technology does enable secure distribution of software and content. This is a venture of Nortel. Apparently, I just happened to stumble upon one of the participating Blockbuster locations. There will be a NetActive.com site that, I suspect, will be something along the lines of what Wave Direct will be offering. Now, all of that said, I'm not necessarily concerned about this offering. I just find it interesting. I should not be surprised to find that others are entering into this secure content distribution space. Plus, viewed one way, it's good news that the likes of Nortel and others are in essence legitimizing this "try before you buy--pay as you go" model.
