Oh oh oh - that makes me think of Dorothy Sayers! Her biographer, James Brabazon, said that Sayers made the best of the cards life dealt her--- that she "lacked the necessary female accoutrements for the successful enactment of a male-designed script." In other words- wife and mommy, but the poor thing did the best she could. If you've never read Carolyn Heilbrun, try her. She has opened my eyes to a new perspective on women's roles as defined by a male dominated society. Sorry, guys.
