I went over to the Yahoo board, which truly covers the widest range of opinions, and noticed that someone complained about AMMB's heavy debt load...LOL. Promised myself (again), that I will never frequent that raunch board again.

NEWSFLASH!!-- AMMB's debt should not be used as an indication of their strength. Of course, they are going to carry a heavy debt load. This is a mortgage company. They make their money by loaning OPM(other people's money) and servicing those and other loans. The mortgage money they lend are assets; the OPM used to fund those loans are liabilities. As long as the interest received exceeds the interest paid plus the costs of doing business, everything is aok.

21 cents a share last quarter translates to a P/E of 5+/-, book value of 13 bucks, bad news from fall 98 well behind it, just closed an origination deal that is just below current market cap...and yet, poured concrete support of a week ago is now a point above current resistance(don't even know if the TA types can define support levels since the only prior history was the steep gorge from last October).

Either I am missing something in a big way or some very angry and well placed people don't like AMMB.
